Firefox 3 beta 5 reached Hardy’s repositories
Woohoo. Ubuntu users, Firefox 3 beta 5 (3b5) has reached Hardy’s repositories. Gutsy (and older versions) users, enable Hardy repo’s to upgrade it.
So far what i can tell you is… AMAZING speed! And also low memory and CPU usage.
Here you can find a complete list of what’s new in Firefox 3b5.
Also, to be able to use all those old extensions, remember to install Nighty Tester Tools.
And as a final note, to be able to install the extensions that are not supported by this version of firefox (ever since the new addons website interface which sucks by the way), here’s what you must do to bypass it: let’s say you want to install All-in-One Gestures, and you would go to https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/12 but wait, the install/download button isn’t availabe. What to do? Use this instead: https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/addons/versions/12 and install the latest release of that certain addon (the first on top). And you can do this with any extension… just copy the id of the extension you want to install found in the link, like: in https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/12, that would be 12, and modify this link: https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/addons/versions/12 by putting that id at the end, instead of whatever number it has now… always works

OK, daca zici tu.
eh, astia cu Windows nu inteleg
Well, unfortunately, it doesn’t work for Greasemonkey. But try it nevertheless. You never know!
I works if you do what i said there… i have greasemoneky working like a charm!
Ah. My bad. You do have to install Nighty Tester Tools beforehand. This is very nifty. Thanks a lot.
You’re welcome
Thanks for the heads up on the nightly tester tools. I cant go a day without adblock.
yeah i know… i use about 30 extensions so…
Doh… Did not allow FoxMarks to work. It still said it wasn’t compatible with 3.0 still. I got other plug-ins working though (ie FoxCast and CSLite).
