Create Bootable USB Drivers In Windows, Linux And Mac OSX
Creating a bootable live USB drive from Ubuntu (for a Linux distribution) is quite easy as Ubuntu comes with an application for this by default: Startup disk creator. Further more, there’s also Unetbootin which can be used to easily create bootable live USB drives for various Linux distributions (Unetbootin can even download the ISO for you which makes it even cooler). But if you’re using Windows or Mac OSX or if you want to create a Windows bootable USB stick from Linux, this is a bit harder to do.
But no matter what operating system you use, you’ll find instructions for creating a bootable USB drive on WebUpd8.
The first post called Create A Bootable Live USB Drives (For Windows, Linux and Mac OS X) explains how to create a bootable USB drive from any OS using either ISO or IMG files. But if you use Linux and want to create a Windows bootable USB drive, check out: Create A Bootable Windows 7 USB Drive From Linux (Tested On Ubuntu)
